Our centers provide children with a quality education in a fun environment. All activities and lessons in our classrooms are created to help your child grow in a safe and nurturing atmosphere. Our goal is to provide stimulating care and an educational experience which promotes each child’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. We prepare our children for success in school and beyond.
Twos (Toddlers)
Our two year olds are a great bunch. In addition to many learning activities, potty training becomes a big focus at this age and the children will reach this milestone generally somewhere between 24-36 months of age. We work closely with the parents to reinforce routines used at home in your potty training effort, as it takes a joint effort to push this along.
Our two year olds continue to use a play-based approach to learning through centers, circle time and other activities. Children will start using crayons and other art mediums to color and develop fine motor skills. Through circle time and table time, they also begin the process of learning basic identification of numbers, shapes, and letters through a variety of puzzles, manipulatives and books.
Three Year Olds (Pre-School)
Our Pre-School classes will continue to focus on learning through play and hands on activities. While this age-group begins the academic path to prepare the children for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten, we still focus the majority of the day on developing the social skills to be a good friend and student. At this age, it’s critical that children need to understand acceptable behavior and how to become a good friend to others. Through teacher led activities including circle time, music and other games and activities, the children will learn to respect authority and understand the transitioning required to progress through the daily routines. Simple things like cleaning up their own work space, walking in a straight line, and washing their hands often become challenges if expectations are not set early in their school years.
The children will now place great emphasis on letter and number recognition through a variety of “textbook” and other activities including manipulative play and arts and crafts. The children will begin sounding out letters and will be introduced to beginner reading skills.
Four Year Olds (Pre-Kindergarten)
In our high quality pre-k classroom, teachers are sparking wonder and igniting learning in our children. Pre-K gives children stronger math and reading skills in elementary school and a better chance at success in life. Studies show that early childhood education improves performance throughout a child’s school experience. In our program, children develop and learn how to interact with others, share, wait their turns, and listen.
Our Pre-Kindergarten program is designed to get the children ready for Kindergarten from both an academic and social standpoint. From an academic standpoint, we want the children to be confident when entering Kindergarten. While some children may be reading at the end of Pre-Kindergarten, we believe that the children also need an equal dose of learning through play in order to develop the social skills to be successful in a larger classroom setting. We continue to emphasize center based play and small group activities in order to develop the social skills necessary to be successful in Kindergarten. Setting routines and expectations for acceptable behavior becomes even more critical so that the children can be successful in Kindergarten.
